Hi, I’m Liam. I’m running as an independent candidate in the Stafford by-election, backed by the Queensland Socialists. I’m a longstanding socialist and an organiser in the Palestine solidarity movement.

As a renter, I’ve experienced first hand how the housing crisis affects working-class people. Landlords and property developers are raking it in while the rest of us struggle to make ends meet. Wages aren’t keeping up with inflation, and the government is doing nothing to help.

If elected to parliament I’ll stand up to the billionaire and big corporate interests that dominate politics, and stand against racism and bigotry.

Crisafulli has passed laws to ban pro-Palestine phrases, and he is expanding racist laws which lock up Indigenous children as young as ten. One Nation is on the rise, bankrolled by billionaires like Gina Rinehart to promote far-right bigotry.

Capitalism is screwing the working class, migrants, students and the poor. Both LNP and Labor governments rule for big business and the rich. It’s time for an alternative.
